SUMMARY:LCSC 75th Birthday
DESCRIPTION:The inaugural meeting of LCSC was held on the 12th February\, 1946. \nTo mark the 75th Anniversary of the formation of the Club\, there will be a cake cutting ceremony after the afternoon race on Sunday 14th February at about 3.00 to 3.30 pm followed by low key (covid affected) celebrations of this historical occasion. \nIt will be a time to remember the founding club members & followers who procured the land and then owner built the club & top storage area that we all use & enjoy today.  That would be a very tough act to follow now\, getting waterfront land and building a sailing club from scratch! \nHistorical information about the formation of the Club and the early days of its establishment and activities can be viewed here\, in a document that was prepared at the time of our 50th anniversary.  \nA “big bash” to further celebrate 75 years of LCSC is intended to be held later this year (hopefully in more covid friendly times) in conjunction with the opening of the 2021/2022 sailing season.  Planning for the event is already underway\, and as the time draws closer we’ll be seeking contributions from members in the gathering of historical information about the last 25 yrs of LCSC.
